Research note: New Caledonia PARTIAL (permanently capped) 2026-07-13. Morris 2016 PMC4772313: 50% (confirmed 3-0 twice), consistent with Fiji (55%)/Vanuatu+Solomon Islands (95%) neighbouring figures. DISTINCTIVE: genuinely mixed population (Kanak ~40%/European ~24%/Wallisian-Futunan/Tahitian/Vietnamese/Indonesian) but NO source confirms a Kanak traditional rite OR a Wallisian/Futunan tradition specifically (both explicit honest gaps). No French national or NC-specific customary-law statute found. No verified harm case (honest gap). **THIRD PERMANENT-PARTIAL COUNTRY/TERRITORY IN THIS DATASET (joining eh Western Sahara + tm Turkmenistan)**: adultPrevalencePct deliberately left NULL - NO official HIV percentage has EVER been published for New Caledonia by any source (World Bank/UNAIDS SH.DYN.AIDS.ZS has zero data for it; Sante publique France's national prevalence methodology applies to metropolitan France + DROM but NOT to New Caledonia, a COM with different statistical status). Only a raw case count exists (~309 PLHIV 2025, up from 291 in 2023/260 in 2003, ~10 new diagnoses/yr) - deliberately NOT converted to a percentage since no current official population denominator/methodology exists to support one reliably. This is a genuine structural data gap, NOT a seeding bug - do not fabricate a percentage to "fix" this. UNREGULATED. NOT VMMC priority. Sources #1526-1533. THIRD of Batch 5 (but will show PARTIAL not DEEP_BUILT in the coverage refresh due to the null HIV field, per deriveStatus hard-requiring hasHiv).

No structured research claims have been added for New Caledonia yet.
Legal status
UnregulatedThis research did not locate a French national statute or a New Caledonia-specific customary-law provision addressing non-therapeutic male circumcision. This research did not independently verify New Caledonia's female genital mutilation legal status either. Female genital mutilation is a separate matter and must not be conflated with male circumcision.
Medical & HIV context

This absence should not be read as proof that harm does not occur — only that no verified, sourced case has been documented in this database yet.
