My circumcision story

I come from a ethnic and religious background where circumcision is the normal thing to do. At the age of 8 I was circumcised and 30 years later it still haunts me. I live in the UK where circumcision isn’t the norm and normal GP’s don’t do it unless there’s a ‘medical’ need. I remember growing up my parents taking me to a few doctors/urologists trying to get me circumcised. I remember having to get examined by most of them to check if there was a medical need. There wasn’t. It wasn’t until my parents were recommended a religious doctor who only performs circumcisions. I remember having to lie on the bed and having my legs pinned down by my dad and my mother holding my hand while the doctor performed the surgery. My uncle was also present making jokes about seeing my penis. I can still remember how it felt to have the numbing injection. Thankfully that was the only pain I remember. I’m now left with a circumcised penis with no frenulum. Growing up my erections were painful but as I learned to masturbate the skin must have loosened up so it no longer hurts. I’m now on the road to restore what I can. If I ever have sons, I won’t be putting them through this.
